How do you start living the #RVLIFE? So many units to consider. Do you want a towable unit, or a Motorhome?
What is the real difference in a Travel Trailer vs a Fifth Wheel? Where should I go first? Hopefully you will not allow yourself to get overwhelmed with all the choices out there. When you speak to one of our knowledgeable sales person they will help you out with all of these questions. The difference between a travel trailer and a fifth wheel is the hitch style.
The Vehicle Matters
When searching for your perfect towable unit you want to first look at the vehicle that you will be using. So let’s take a look at what you drive. According to CNBC.com the Ford F Series is still the top selling unit for the 39th year in a row. So let’s look at the towable units you can tow with the F-150, F250 and the F350. The 2021 F-150 you can tow any of our smaller units from 5,000 to 11,300 lbs. The F-250 you can tow any travel trailer we have and some light weight 5th wheels up to 12,300 to 15,000 lbs according to Ford's website. The F-350 can tow anything. Now that you have that information you can start shopping. Always check with your vehicles manual to get the towable capacity.
Our experts at both locations can help you choose the perfect fit for your #RVLIFE. Take the Alpine Fifth Wheel when you walk into the RV you feel like you are walking into a 5 star hotel. The kitchen, living space and the master bedroom will take your breath away. Not to mention the master bath! This unit offers everything you could possibly want in a fifth wheel. If you want to live, work and play in your RV this would be an excellent choice. It offers 1.5 bathrooms and room to sleep eight people comfortably. The attention to detail in this unit is awe-inspiring.
So how do you define the #RVLIFE? Do you want to be a full-time RVer? Do you want to travel America? We have a product the Dutchmen Astoria line. These fifth wheels are made for residential living. Check out the videos on our YouTube channel to see these fifth wheels. We got a chance last week to have the District Sales Manager, Adam Baker, from the Astoria line down to go over their special components in their units.
When you do decide on the RV that is right for you and your loved ones don’t forget to check out some awesome resources online such as rvlife.com where they offer tools and websites that will help you along your travels. You can research campgrounds, plan your trip, and connect with other RVers that are traveling just like you. They have a paid subscription but also a free one.
I have also learned about an app for the hiking enthusiasts. If you love to hike like my husband and I do I would highly recommend this app. This was recommended to me from a retired Forest Ranger. You can record your trails, find off grid trails, etc. I plan on using it on my next trip. The gaiagps.com this app offers resources for hiking & backpacking, off-roading, mountain biking, fishing, backcountry skiing, and a map catalog. I just also learned that it can pair with Apple Watch on your travels!
I love learning about the differences in each manufacturer. When you start looking to purchase an RV ask your sales person any questions that come to your mind so they fit you with the correct unit that works for what you want. Each RV unit offers a unique signature style that is special to that unit. So take your time when finding your #RVLIFE unit that fits your life.
