Planning Your Summer RV Travel Spots East Coast Drive

    East Coast Road Trip
To map out some of the remote locations you may want to visit across the US, I wanted to see if Google Maps would be a good option for someone who wants to research and plan by themselves. I recommended the freeroam.app that allows campground type, price, cell signal etc. You can go that route or I googled "Secret destinations in the US for RV travel." One of the items that popped up is RV Trip Wizard. Google states you can download maps to use in Google Maps. If you are a member of any camping clubs such as KOA or Good Sam you can click this feature when searching for an RV park.

So how long would you have to plan a trip to your first road trip? From Florida to Maine.  Let's take a look.

I stumbled on to  a The Dyrt website that gave me a couple spots to check out.  "The Ultimate East Coast Road Trip Guide" with five total stops along the journey.  I mapped them out to see how long it would take from Florida to Maine with these five stops.  You can get the map here.

Stop 1: Red Gate Campground RV Resort
    State:  Georgia
Family owned and operated since 1931, it is the closest RV park near Historic Savannah. The amenities at the Red Gate Campground RV Resort includes, fishing ponds, horseback trail riding and a clubhouse that has a salt water pool, pool table and a big screen TV.

    Stop 2: Congaree National Park
    State:  South Carolina
The Congaree National Park has 26,000 acres, this is South Carolina's only National Park is the largest tract of old-growth hardwood forest remaining in the US. This forest has some of the tallest trees on the East Coast.

Stop 3:  Assateague Island National Seashore
    State: Maryland and Virginia
The East Coast Hidden Gem this is a 37 mile long barrier island along the Atlantic coasts of Maryland and Virginia.  Within this Assateaque Island you will find marsh islands and ocean waters. If you visit here make sure to take in the beauty of the famous wild horses.

Stop 4:  Cape Cod Campresort & Cabins.
    State:  Boston
Take a moment to stop in Boston. The Freedom Trail has 16 significant historic sites across the city.  You can learn and experience a part of the US history. One of the best things to do in Boston of course is to visit the famous Fenway Park.  Go ahead and get a little nostalgic in this stadium.  Whenever I think of this stadium the son "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond comes to mind.  This is definitely on my bucket list of things to do. You can camp at Cape Code Campresort & Cabins. This is a luxury campsite that has three pools and a jacuzzi, to top it off there is access to a private lake for boating and fishing.

    Stop 5: Acadia National Park
    State:  Maine
Some of the most stunning granite cliffs, that you will ever come across.  Maine has lush hiking trails and tranquil New England beaches in the country. With over 47,000 acres of recreation area finding a place to camp will be a breeze.
Blackwoods Campground is one of those camps, it is a good base site for the Acadia National Park.
An image from my trip to Dry Falls, Highlands, NC. This is a waterfall that you can walk underneath the falls safely.  You may get a little wet.
