Carrier Rooftop A/C - No Problem
Whenever a customer calls me and says they have a problem with their Carrier rooftop air conditioner, I generally feel bad. Carrier was a fine rooftop air conditioner in it's time, but they got out of the RV business in January of 2011. Parts are very hard to find. Unless it's a simple adjustment, they are pretty much out of luck.
If you find yourself in this situation, replacing the Carrier can be a big job. However, it can be done easier. As long as the Carrier has a remote control (ducted units only), Coleman has a kit to use their rooftop unit with the Carrier package inside. Unfortunatly, if there is no remote, the kit will not work. The kits for the 13,500 A/C units are in short supply and the 15K heat pump kits are readily available.
If your RV is not a ducted unit the replacement is much easier. You can simply replace a Carrier unit with a Coleman. The Coleman A/C units will run you around $700 plus labor.
We keep the 13,500 BTU Coleman AC in stock here at Florida Outdoors and can install a straight discharge whenever you need one. I can have different configurations and brands in just a couple days.
If things start to heat up, just give us a call! We'll fix you right up!
